An experimental nonfiction press, coming soon
Human Voices is a new small press for the North West. Specialising in creative, experimental, and politically urgent nonfiction, we champion weird things from the archives, passion projects, side quests, all the parts of research that don’t fit into traditional academic publishing but spark the best conversations.
We are scholar-led and 100% independent.
Submissions for our inaugural 2027 season are now open. Here’s what we’re looking for:
from the past
We make beautifully designed editions of public domain classics.
from the vaults
What strange secrets have the archives divulged to you?
to being here now
We want your poetry pamphlets! We want your literary genre fiction!
to the future
What happened to manifestos? Let’s bring them back.
All nonfiction submissions will be peer reviewed. Submissions consisting of a 300-500 word summary and one or more draft chapters should be sent to humanvoicespress@gmail.com.
