I’m a publisher and editorial consultant. Passionate about helping good people make good books, I bring fifteen years of experience in higher education to a deep understanding of supporting authors in bringing dreams to reality.
After some time working in research libraries and pubs in London, and teaching English in Hong Kong, I came back to Manchester to do a PhD in early modern literature and critical theory. I’ve worked at Manchester University Press, where I commissioned in Higher Education, and at the University of Sussex, where I ran OPUS, a library-based Diamond Open Access publisher.
Since 2012 I’ve also been a freelance copy editor and development editor, helping academic authors in the humanities and social sciences with monographs and journal articles. I specialise in literature, history, cultural studies, critical theory, gender studies, sociology, human geography and education.
